چکیده

Various relation-based systems, concerned with the qualitative representation and processing of spatial knowledge, have been developed in numerous application domains. In this paper we identify the common concepts underlying qualitative spatial knowledge representation, we compare the representational properties of the different systems and we outline the computational tasks involved in relation-based spatial information processing. The paper also describes symbolic spatial indexes, relation-based structures which combine several ideas in spatial knowledge representation. A symbolic spatial index is an array that preserves only a set of spatial relations among distinct objects in an image, called the modelling space; the index array discards information, such as shape and size of objects, and irrelevant spatial relations. The construction of a symbolic spatial index from an input image can be thought of as a transformation that keeps only a set of representative points needed for the definition of the relations of the modelling space. By keeping the relative arrangements of the representative points in symbolic spatial indexes and discarding all other points, we maintain enough information to answer queries regarding the spatial relations of the modelling space without the need to access the initial image or an object database. Symbolic spatial indexes can be used to solve problems involving route planning, composition of spatial relations and update operations.

Spatial Representation and Production and Reproduction of the Mental Image: Lefebvre’s Trialectic Approach

Lefebvre's theory of space production has been very much considered. In particular, it is important to integrate it systematically into the categories of city and space as a comprehensive and comprehensible social theory. Lefebvre's theory of space production has been remarkable in recent years and has responded well to the many questions posed in the early 1970s. Lefebvre in his trialectic in ...

Assessing Effective Indexes on Personal Preferences of Citizens in Urban Public Spaces, Case Study Daneshjou Park in Tehran

Urban areas are the most important place to the formation of citizen action, agency, possibility and context of social functions. In this sense, space is always the potential that can be actualize in ways such as the presence of people in it. In today's everyday life, public spaces including parks can be as active domains, abandoned citizens  from the routine imperative, or at least pull out th...

Target detection Bridge Modelling using Point Cloud Segmentation Obtained from Photogrameric UAV

In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...

Spatial-reasoning for Agents in Multiple Dimensions

Suppose a group of mobile agents situated in some Euclidean space does not have any idea on where they are exactly located within that space. However, they do have some notion about their relative positions with respect to each other. This problem may be formulated as a multi-dimensional point-based qualitative reasoning problem with disjunctive constraints. In this article we have developed a ...
